Irrespective of whoever Barcelona sign when Lionel Messi leaves the club it would still not fill in the void left behind by the Argentine, however, a plan for the future would be important to ensure longevity and success.

The current potential replacements that Barca could look to fill Messi’s role post-2023 would be Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund, Leroy Sane, and Raheem Sterling of Manchester City.
