The contract renewal would also see Messi’s wages increase, however, the report has not specified the amount by which it would possibly increase.

The current potential replacements that Barca could look to fill Messi’s role post-2023 would be Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund, Leroy Sane, and Raheem Sterling of Manchester City. The three candidates would be an ideal replacement, however, none of the three potential replacements would come cheap and Barca would have to break the bank once again to sign any of the mentioned players.
