The Catalan giants have been looking to add an attacking reinforcement to their current squad, especially a new no. 9 with Inter’s Argentine striker being massively focused on, for this summer. Despite this, no significant advances will be made on this matter until July when Barca have closed their this year’s finances and Lautaro’s special clause in his current contract becomes activated.
Mundo Deportivo, however, reports that the Nerazzurri have already targetted Manchester City star as a possible replacement for their departing striker. Brazilian forward, Gabriel Jesus, has been identified as the perfect candidate for the job in case Lautaro does join La Liga this summer.
Lautaro has recently revealed that he is adamant about moving to Camp Nou this summer and has warned the Italian side that he will be forced to become publically vocal if no deal is materialized.
Inter Milan continue to reject everything that comes their way
The Serie A club have rejected Barca’s latest offer of 70 million euros plus Nelson Semedo/Junior Firpo as they desire a higher cash amount. Meanwhile, Inter’s enquiry of Gabriel Jesus has resulted in City demanding a minimum transfer fee of 60 million euros.
The 23-year-old forward has scored 18 goals in 40 appearances while Lautaro has managed 16 in 32 matches. The City star can easily fit in Antonio Conte’s system alongside Romelu Lukaku but this operation greatly depends on whether Inter can convince Lautaro to sign a renewal to remain at San Siro.
Should Barca remain focused on Lautaro or perhaps look at the multiple alternatives available in the current transfer market?
