Neto has been linked with a transfer away from Barcelona.

More from Everything Barca

Despite recently completing a transfer in 2019 from Valencia to Barcelona for 26 million euros and having a contract which extends till 2023 Neto hasn’t been able to impressive Quique Setien. This is because the keeper from Valencia has conceded 7 goals in 4 matches and due to his unconvincing performances over the past few weeks, he has been linked with a transfer away from the Camp Nou.

The Spanish giants have plans to establish a younger squad over the next few seasons and have been heavily linked to sign a young goalkeeper such as Andre Onana and Luis Maximanio who could potentially fortify the clubs defense in a more efficient manner in comparison to the 30-year-old Brazilian international.

Arsenal have shown interest to sign Neto.

Mikel Arteta is keen to sign a goalkeeper in the upcoming transfer window who can replace Bernd Leno who picked up an injury in the clubs most recent league game against Brighton. The Gunners have shown interest to sign Neto from the Catalan giants on a loan deal with buyout clause similar to Philippe Coutinho’s deal with Bayern Munich as stated by the Metro. However, to add to Arsenal’s misery the 2018-2019 La Liga champions haven’t agreed to the English clubs demands and have offered Neto for a transfer fee of 20 million euros, Arteta is yet to respond to this offer made by the Spanish club.

Barca must try to sell Neto for a large sum of money in order to add funds to their limited transfer budget. The funds raised by selling the Brazilian international can be used to buy world class players who can help fill the void of Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Junior Firpo who are heavily linked with moves away from the Camp Nou.
