Barcelona plot a generational swap deal with a Premier League club

As the summer transfer market approaches, Barcelona has a lot on their plate in terms of signing players this summer with a limited budget and selling players in order to raise funds along with increasing their wage budget that would prove to be pivotal to sign world-class players that demand hefty wages.

More from Everything Barca

The midfield at Barca is one of the departments that the Catalans will be focusing on during the summer transfer market. Juventus have already agreed to terms with Barca for an 80 million euro transfer fee for Arthur Melo and the Bianconeri have agreed to offer the Brazilian midfielder a five-year contract along with an increment in his salary by almost double the figures he earns at the Camp Nou.

The next midfielder that might leave the Camp Nou in the summer is  Arturo Vidal. The former Bayern Munich man has reportedly admitted to wanting to play for Boca Juniors and has deemed it as a dream move for his career to experience the ambiance at the Argentinian football club.

Since Barca might lose out on two midfielders this summer, Josep Maria Bartomeu has reportedly entered into negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for their midfield superstar, according to the Independent .

Barca offer Tottenham Hotspur a world-class swap deal

The Blaugrana have reportedly offered Philippe Coutinho or Nelson Semedo to Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for their midfield superstar, Tanguy Ndombele. The former Lyon man was signed by Tottenham Hotspur last summer and the 23-year-old French midfielder arrived at the club with huge expectations but has failed to prove his worth after falling out with Jose Mourinho.

Tanguy Ndomble would be the perfect replacement that Barca requires for Arthur and Vidal since the French midfielder is an excellent dribbler with the ball and is a master at intercepting and tackling in the middle of the park. The work rate of the French midfielder is like no other and the former Lyon man boasts a strong 4.03 interceptions per game something Barca desperately requires to prevent counter-attacks and losing possession in the midfield.

However, it would not be a straight swap deal since Tottenham Hotspur would demand cash along with either Philippe Coutinho or Nelson Semedo since the North London club had paid 55 million pounds in the summer of 2019 to sign the young midfielder.
