MARTIN BRAITHWAITE

The Danish forward shined against Mallorca, playing as a no. 9 for the most part until Suarez’s substitution. He was rested against his former club, Leganes, as Setien wanted him for the tough clash against Sevilla. Surprisingly, Braithwaite struggled against Pizjuan and was often seen lost and unable to link with Messi. He failed multiple passes and kept losing the possession which resulted in his substitution. Despite this, Braithwaite has shown signs of success, with his best performances coming as a substitute. Perhaps the 29-year-old could be a super-sub for Setien.

LUIS SUAREZ

Suarez has returned from his injury but has understandably taken his time to settle. Setien has revealed that he does not want him to be playing entire matches as there are still chances of relapse which Setien wants to avoid at all costs. Suarez is struggling since his return as he does not look fresh, often missing his shots and passes. He is struggling to connect with the other attackers but Setien is aware that it is important to give the Uruguayan his well-deserved game time as he is capable of reaching his immense potential once again. But at the same time, Setien needs to be brave and sub out Suarez if he finds the No. 9 not being able to positively contribute to the team.
