Barcelona are desperate to sell Coutinho.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona has plans to sell offensive duo of Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho in the upcoming transfer window in order to raise sufficient funds to sign replacements for the players such as Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo in defence in addition to signing a world-class midfielder who can fill the void of Ivan Raktic and Arturo Vidal who are set leave the club over the summer transfer window.

Coutinho has been linked back with a move to England, the Brazilian superstar played for Liverpool from 2012 to 2018. The playmaker was outstanding for the English club and was able to provide them with 54 goals and 45 assists across all competitions. However, the player has lost his spark ever since he signed for Catalan giants in 2018 for 145 million euros and is hopeful to revive his career with a move back to the Premier League.

‘Liverpool fans would love if the club resigned Coutinho’

Ex-Liverpool striker Heskey has stated that the fans would be extremely happy if ‘The Reds’ resign the Brazilian maestro from Barcelona in the upcoming transfer window. Heskey further added that he believes Coutinho wasn’t able to perform in Spain as he lacked confidence considering the fact that he wasn’t the main player in the squad and in loan spell at Bayern Munich as he wasn’t given enough time to adapt to the squad as well as the league as stated by the Goal.

Over the last few weeks many clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle have shown interest to sign the playmaker who has an estimated market value of around 60 million euros, as things stand the clubs have been negotiating more affordable deals for the player. Barcelona must sell the Brazilian international in order to raise funds to sign their expensive primary transfer targets Neymar and Lautaro Martinez.
