The board in Barcelona are in talk’s with Premier League superstar midfielder

As it has been reported by several sources that Barcelona and Juventus have agreed to a swap deal that would see Miralem Pjanic move to the Camp Nou and Arthur Melo move to Turin in the summer transfer market, the board at Barca have already started their hunt for a replacement midfielder.

More from Everything Barca

Arthur Melo has reportedly accepted the offer from Juventus that would see the Brazilian as Bianconeri for the next five years and the midfielder would receive a whooping salary worth 5 million euros per year as well.

The replacement midfielder that Barca has considered is Arsenal’s French midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi, according to GOAL.

Barcelona is not the only one interested in signing the French midfielder.

However, the Gunner’s midfielder is also currently negotiating with Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid

The 21-year-old French midfielder has shown immense potential at Arsenal, however, the negative environment at the Emirates Stadium followed by the poor performances by the Gunners might not be the ideal environment for a player of Guendouzi’s potential and capability.

The French midfielder has already expressed his opinion to leave the club this summer despite being on contract until June 2022. Bartomeu and his team of officials have shown great interest in signing Guendouzi to build a stable future after regretfully selling Arthur Melo.

The addition of Guendouzi would add versatility and explosiveness since the 21-year-old never shies away from a harsh duel and also has the capability to carry the ball up front due to his quick pace and body built. His style of play is something like Arturo Vidal but a younger and more energetic version. His explosiveness and defensive capabilities in the middle of the park would add the much-needed stability when caught out of possession.

A midfield in the future including the likes of Guendouzi, Riqui Puig, and Frenkie de Jong would be a dream lineup for the Catalans. For now, Quique Setien and his men prepare to face Celta Vigo at the Balaidos in what could be an exciting duel to decide the La Liga title if Barca drop points tonight.
