If Barcelona’s manager Quique Setien is unable to make his team win the La Liga title where the club is currently on the top of the table or the Champions League in which the club is in the last 16 stage this season the Spanish giants might end up replacing Setien with another manager in the upcoming season. This move might go through despite the fact that the manager was signed in January and has a contract which keeps him in the Camp Nou till 2022.
Earlier this season there were several reports that suggested that Xavi would take over Barcelona in the middle of the season however, later Xavi issued a statement in which he said that even though it is his dream to manage the Catalan giants in the future he wasn’t keen to leave managing his current club Al Sadd in the Qutar Star League in the middle of the season. Now that the Spanish club’s season is coming to the end many believe that the club should try and appoint Xavi to replace Setien.
Barcelona might consider reuniting with Pep Guardiola.
The Express has stated that, the current La Liga leaders might consider signing Guardiola from Manchester City if the English club is banned from playing in the Champions league in the upcoming season. As of now one the 2018-2019 Premier League champions manager is yet to make a statement about his future and has a contract which keeps him at the club till 2021.
Barcelona should wait for the season to finish before making a decision as the Spanish club still has a chance to win both the domestic league and the Champions League this season. Moreover, Setien has been able to manage the club effectively and has only lost 3 matches and has a win percentage of around 65%.
Do you think the Spanish club should replace Quique Setien with Pep Guardiola or Xavi in the next season?
