Barcelona is in a major state of crisis and the board prepares to make amends
Barcelona’s pathetic display against Celta Vigo at the Balaidos was considered as the nail in the coffin for the club’s title race since Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid edged past RCD Espanyol to increase their advantage over Barca by two points.
As only six games are left in the league and given the fact that Real Madrid has a two-point advantage over their rivals, it seems like the Los Blancos will clinch their 34th Spanish league title since Barca have two more difficult fixtures that are extremely uncertain.

Barcelona prepares to face Atletico Madrid this evening in the Camp Nou in what could be the most difficult fixture out of the six remaining games for Setien despite Diego Simeone’s men not being at their best. This season, Atletico Madrid has been poor upfront while attacking, however, it would be foolish to write off Simeone’s team as they managed to beat Liverpool in both the legs of the Champions League despite their poor form.
However, the tension just does not end there. The next game for Quique Setien and his team would be against Villareal, who have been on fine form this season as they are currently ranked 6th and in their last outing they managed to shockingly defeat Valencia by two goals to nil.
Given the tight schedule and the lack of squad depth at the Camp Nou, it seems inevitable that the Catalans will be dropping points soon enough and the board at Barca has decided to carry out a critical emergency meeting to evaluate on the club’s current condition, according to El Desmarque.
The agenda of the critical evaluation meeting
The meeting will discuss topics regarding the strained relationship and negative environment that is prevailing in the dressing room of the Camp Nou in regards to the club’s management. Videos leaked on social media have shown that heavyweights such as Lionel Messi, have completely fallen out with Quique Setien and his assistant. Leo Messi had decided to walk away and ignore the pair during the cooling break after losing his patience.
Another talking point would be about the future of the former Real Betis manager and if he is the right one to guide the club back to where it belongs as champions of Spain and Europe next season. As earlier reported, the players at the club have fallen out with their current coaching staff and Leo Messi and Co have demanded the recruitment of either Xavi Hernandez or Pep Guardiola.
Do you believe that Quique Setien should continue as the coach of Barca next season and can he win the hearts of the supporters and the players next season?
