Barcelona haven’t been able to sign their offensive transfer targets Neymar and Lautaro Martinez till now. This is because the club has limited spending capabilities due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Even though the Spanish club is currently trying to allocate sufficient funds to sign the expensive duo they have listed other alternatives that they might consider bringing to the Camp Nou if they are unable to sign the expensive duo.
Players such as Jadon Sancho, Serge Gnabry and Erling Haaland are some of the players who have been listed as alternatives by Quique Stien if he is unable to sign the club’s primary transfer targets. However, these players are heavily linked with moves to other big European clubs who plan to sign them in the upcoming transfer window.
Manchester United won’t pay more than 50 million euros for Sancho.
The Catalan giants receive a huge transfer boost as Manchester United who were leading the race to sign Dortmund’s playmaker Jadon Sancho have passed a statement in which they have stated that they won’t be willing to spend more then 50 million euros to sign the young playmaker which the management of the German side is expected to reject as stated by Sky Sports. The 20-year-old Englishman has been exceptional for the German side this season and has been able to provide his club with 17 goals and 17 assists in 32 league games. The Englishman has an estimated market value of around 115 million euros with a contract which extends till 2022.
Quique Setien must take advantage of this situation and rather than trying to sign the expensive duo of Neymar and Martinez the club should opt to sign Sancho. To reduce the asking price for the English playmaker the Spanish giants could try and offer players such as Ousmane Dembele, Phillipe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic to Dortmund. Barcelona could also try and establish a season long loan deal with a buyout clause for the young playmaker which could be similar to the deal that Phillipe Coutinho had with Bayern Munich.
