Guardiola might be on his way to coach Barcelona once again

The 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo at the Baliados saw the players of Barcelona completely disgruntled in regards to the current situation at the club. Luis Suarez had even taken a dig in his post-match interview at the coaching staff and Quique Setien about the poor use of tactics against Eric Garcia‘s underrated side, Celta Vigo.

Rumours had also stated that Lionel Messi had demanded the resignation of Quique Setien and asked for the appointment of either Xavi Hernandez or Pep Guardiola of Manchester City.

The 2019/20 season has not been the kindest year for Pep Guardiola in his coaching career. The former Barca manager was hoping to win his third Premier League title this season to put him on par with Jose Mourinho who has won three Premier League titles with Chelsea in his two tenures as the manager of the club.

However, injuries and poor player performance saw the Sky Blues of Manchester lose eight times in the league which played a crucial role for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to clinch the club’s 19th English League title.

To make matters even worse for Guardiola, City were handed a two-year ban from all UEFA competitions after the club was found guilty for a breach in the financial fair play rules. The current squad at the Etihad Stadium is a star-studded one and each player in the squad demands Champions League football.

If the decision is not overturned in favour of the English side, Guardiola might lose out on several of his key players such as Leroy Sane, Kevin de Bruyne, and Raheem Sterling. Rumours claim that Pep has considered a move away from Manchester City and his reportedly even mentioned his conditions if his to return to the Camp Nou once again where he achieved wide success as a player and as a manager, according to Diaro GOL

The conditions that Guardiola has mentioned for his return to Barca

Pep has made a bold statement that he would only take over when Bartomeu is no longer the president of the club since he does not believe in the capabilities of the club’s current president who has been one of the major reasons behind Barcelona’s downfall.

He also demanded to have the complete power of making decisions at the club and that Eric Abidal should not interfere in his decisions. Both Bartomeu and Abidal have made several mistakes over the last few years in regards to decision making.

The last condition is that Xavi Hernandez is to be appointed as his sporting director and technical secretary to ensure that the club carries out all activities in the best interest for the fans and the players and not for business-related purposes.
