Barcelona superstar may be on the verge of joining Arsenal or Inter Milan.

Barcelona forward, Antoine Griezmann, has been struggling to find his spot under Quique Setien amid Arsenal and Inter Milan emerging as possible destinations.

More from Everything Barca

The Catalan giants signed the French international for 120 million euros nearly a year ago, thinking he would be the superstar alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, to take Barca to the next level.

Unfortunately for the club and the world cup winner, his performances for Barca have been a shadow of his former self. Originally the Barca hierarchy desired Griezmann to join back in 2018 and despite coming really close to finalizing a move, the Frenchman decided to stay with Atletico Madrid, making the announcement over a video.

Despite embarrassing Blaugrana on the video and the Barca squad demanding the return of Neymar, club’s president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, and co. decided to opt for Griezmann instead. The board believed that the striker would take them to Champions League glory but that was not to be with Griezmann having scored just 14 goals in 43 appearances so far.

The 29-year-old’s future is up for debate as his relationship with current coaching staff has been hindered after Quique Setien’s latest stunt against Atleti. While many believed that Antoine would feature against his former club, Setien had other ideas as he only substituted his 120 million euro player with two minutes remaining on the clock.

While two minutes is obviously not the ideal time to substitute your forward when being 2-2 versus the opposition, it was the fact that Setien had Griezmann warm-up for 35 minutes prior that pissed the player the most. After the match, his former coach, Diego Simeone revealed that he was lost for words with Setien’s choices.

Setien himself, however, refused to give an apology stating,

"“I understand it’s tough for Griezmann to come on when so little time left, I will speak with him tomorrow, I won’t say sorry because [it’s about] decisions. But I understand he may feel bad and I feel bad for him because he’s a great person and professional.”Source Express"

While many believe that Griezmann’s days at the Nou Camp are numbered, in reality, there aren’t many clubs that can afford his transfer and services. Despite this, Express reports that either Arsenal or Inter Milan could come to the rescue.

Barca are interested in Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi, who could be signed by exchanging their available players. Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez and Barca are closely linked for this summer with Griezmann being named as the one that could convince the Italian side to reduce their asking price.
