The future at Barcelona seems dark after Real Madrid’s masterstroke

If Zinedine Zidane‘s men come out victorious tonight after the fixture against Getafe then it would put the Los Blancos four points clear from Barcelona on top of the table to win the 2019/20 La Liga Santander. Barca’s draw against Atletico Madrid can be described as the nail in the coffin for the club’s hope in the title race as Zidane closes in on his second Spanish League title with Real Madrid after winning the championship in the 2016/17 season.

The future at Barcelona continues to be uncertain and given the current political scenario and the lack of confidence in the squad shown towards the board and the management, it seems highly unlikely that the Catalans would be getting themselves out of this mess anytime soon.

Real Madrid make matters worse for Barca

Apart from the current mess at the Camp Nou with the board and Quique Setien, another important objective for the club was to prepare for a future post Lionel Messi as the captain has entered the final years of his career.

Jadon Sancho was considered as the ideal replacement, however, the Borussia Dortmund man is on his way to Manchester United instead according to the latest rumours. Leroy Sane was another option, however, Bayern Munich has already agreed to terms with the German forward.

The only option that is left is Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain who can play as a striker and as a right-winger and can successfully replace Messi’s role at the Camp Nou since the French superstar has the capability to score 30 goals a season consistently.

However, Diaro GOL reports that Real Madrid has even snatched the opportunity away from Barca to sign Mbappe as a replacement for Messi as Florentino Perez prepares to offer PSG 350 million euros for their number 7.

The 350 million euros would be paid in installments of four over two seasons that would help the Parisian club replace Mbappe with Erling Haaland or Jadon Sancho according to the report. Real will also offer the French forward 30 million euros per season a figure that the board at Barca could only dream of offering such a wage as the club’s coffers are currently empty.
