Barcelona prepare a transfer to please Leo Messi who is set to leave

The entire fanbase of Barcelona has come to a standstill after rumours claim that Lionel Messi has considered leaving the club in the summer of 2021 when his contract is set to run out. The rumours have not only left fans in a state of shock that the world’s greatest football is on his way out but it has also raised the question if whether the club can actually survive without their captain and who must they sign to replace Messi’s role.

However, the board at Barca fear to answer that question and have decided to continue their optimistic hunt to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan this summer as their last resort to keep Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.

The recruitment of Martinez this summer has been considered as the last-ditch effort the Catalans have up their sleeve to please Messi. The reason behind the captain considering a move away from the Camp Nou is not yet known, however, according to the latest rumours and my own intuition it seems like the Argentine forward has lost all his patience with the board.

One could also consider the departure of Arthur Melo and the recruitment of Miralem Pjanic instead as a replacement as the nail in the coffin for Josep Maria Bartomeu as the president of the club.

How and when will Barcelona sign Martinez?

All most every single player at Barca has lost confidence in the current board who has carried out all their operations without having the best interests of the club in their hearts. Leo Messi might just be the first player to step up and voice his opinion and it seems like several other players might do the same as the board is on the verge of taking the club to the cleaners.

Although the board believes that they can sign Lautaro Martinez this summer to please Messi, realistically the club has no money to do so, however, it would be foolish to rule out the possibility of Bartomeu and his team offering another crucial player in exchange for the San Siro striker just to please Lionel Messi.

If they fail to sign Lautaro Martinez this summer, the next option on the cards of the board is to sign the player in 2021 when Messi’s contract is set to expire. If Barca manages to sign their wanted striker in the summer of 2021, then their greatest ever play might just renew his contract.
