The Frenchman not enjoying life at Barcelona at the moment.

The future of Antoine Griezmann has become the hot button issue following Barcelona’s 2-2- draw against Atletico Madrid.

His family took to social media to vent their frustration and speculation quickly erupted that a number of big clubs in Europe would be interested in him should become available. Those teams included the likes of both Manchester sides and Juventus.

You can add Arsenal to that list as according to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners would be willing to include players in a swap deal for Griezmann.

The report claims that those players would be midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

On the surface, it could potentially be an interesting deal for the Catalans.

They are being offered a promising player in Guendouzi in Aubameyang, they would be getting the striker that they sorely need.

Barcelona had been linked with Aubameyang in the past as a possible alternative to Lautaro Martinez. Arsenal would also have to pay a transfer fee as Griezmann’s value would still be higher than the players being offered.

Aubameyang in talks to extend Arsenal contract.

However, what could stand in the way of a deal is the fact that Aubameyang’s representatives are in talks with Arsenal on a contract extension.

According to ESPN, the Gabonese striker is asking for a three-year deal that would pay him £250,00 a week. He has one year left on his current deal and is making around £200,000 a week so the increase is reasonable seeing as he’s the joint top scorer in the league alongside Jamie Vardy.

While he would be a less costly option that Martinez, given that he is already 31-years-old, he would only be a short-term solution and the club would soon find themselves in the same situation.

By all accounts, Griezmann is betting on himself and not looking for a move only one season in with the Catalans. With Setien all but gone at the end of the season, he wants to wait and see, and impress, whoever the new manager may be and succeed at Barcelona.
