Barcelona should opt to sign a winger who is set to join Manchester United

Barcelona have a limited transfer budget.

The outbreak of the coronavirus has significantly reduced Barcelona’s spending capabilities in the summer transfer window. Despite having a limited transfer budget Quique Setien has plans to sign many players such as Lautaro Martinez and Neymar over the summer transfer window.

However, as things stand the 2018-2019 La Liga champions have been struggling to sign players as they have insufficient funds. Barca must consider signing players such as Dries Mertens, Jan Vertonghen, Thiago Silva, Willian and Mario Gotze who are set to become free agents over the summer transfer window.

Willian has received a lot of interest from Manchester United.

According to the Express, the Brazilian international who has an estimated market value of 23 million euros could be on the verge of joining the Red Devils in the upcoming season. This is because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plans to establish a squad which could contend for the league title in a more effective manner as compared to this season. Willian is yet to hint whether he wants to join Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window and is currently focused on performing for Chelsea, in the Blues last game the winger was able to score a brace against West Ham United.

The Catalan giants should try to sign Willian as he can act as replacement for Antoine Griezmann who is rumored with a move away from the Camp Nou to join either Inter Milan or Arsenal over the summer transfer window. Signing the Brazilian international would also remove the need to sign another offensive player over the summer which was turning out to be an extremely expensive proposition. If the Spanish giants are able to sign the winger, the club could start spending their limited resources in order to sign defensive replacements for Samuel Umtiti and Junior Firpo who are set to leave the club in the upcoming season.
