Real Madrid have huge plans for the summer meanwhile Barcelona daydream

The win at the San Mames for Real Madrid against Atheltic Bilbao has put Real four points clear of Barcelona on the La Liga Santander table with just four more easy fixtures left. Zinedine Zidane‘s men were lucky to scrape past Bilbao at the San Mames after Sergio Ramos converted a penalty in the second half that was his 22nd consecutive successful spot-kick.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona put on a masterclass display against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica as the Catalans cruised past the Yellow Submarines by four goals to one. Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann finally clicked after failing to do so all season. Messi grabbed his 19th assist and Griezmann scored an absolute world-class goal after failing to do so for the last nine league games.

Although Barca finally seems to have found their feet in the league, it seems too late as Real Madrid are just four easy fixtures away from lifting their 34th Spanish league title. Nonetheless, next season is an opportunity for the Blaugrana to assert their dominance on Real Madrid, however, reports from Diaro GOL claim that the Los Blancos have a 200 million operation in plan to bury Barca next season.

The 200 million operation by Real Madrid

Florentino Perez plans on dominating Barcelona next season as well and Zinedine Zidane has a list of players he wants in the summer to build a team that could end Barca’s hopes of winning any of the trophies. Meanwhile, Josep Maria Bartomeu has made it clear that there will not be any big signings this summer since the club is short on funds which could prove to be fatal next season.

The board at the Santiago Bernabeu also faces the same issue that the Catalans face in terms of a limited transfer budget, however, Real possess a squad depth that Barca lack severely and Zidane is willing to show several players the door this summer to sign his wanted players. Something Quique Setien can only dream of doing since his side has mostly 30-year-old footballers with no young replacements.

Zidane plans on selling James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Marcelo, Brahim Diaz, Mariano, and Lucas Vasquez. The French manager is confident that the departures of these players would not hamper the squad next season since he has the perfect squad depth to replace them. The sales generated from these departures is assumed to be around 200 million euros that would be used to sign either Sadio Mane, Paul Pogba and or Milan Skriniar.

Meanwhile, Quique Setien begs the board to not make any more foolish signings after the club let 24-year-old Arthur Melo swap clubs with 30-year-old Miralem Pjanic. With the addition of the Juventus midfielder, Barca now has 10 players that are in their thirties. A very worrying stat for Quique Setien and his coaching staff.

Real Madrid’s board has set a standard that Barcelona must look up to and follow if they wish to be successful in the future once again.
