Barcelona set to make another blunder in the transfer window

Nurturing young talent has not really been the forte of FC Barcelona in the past few years. They have let go of many such youngsters who could well become powerhouses for them down the line.

As per Ibtimes, Barcelona is keen on selling their young right-back, Emerson in order to gain a temporary monetary boost. The 21 year-old is currently out on a loan at Real Betis where he has developed quite a bit.

Borrussia Dortmund is interested in acquiring the services of the youngster and that piece of news might just please the Blaugranes. The transfer fee for him is unknown at the moment.

The Brazilian has got a lot of attacking potential to himself as well. This season he has already found the net on 4 occasions and assisted 5 times. Moreover, he has an average of 2.2 tackles per game while clearing the ball away at least 1.5 times in a game. While these are just numbers, the consistency in his playing style should be well and duly noted.

Barcelona have had a tempestuous past couple of years following the departure of Neymar. They have struggled all over the field and many might disagree to this as they won the La Liga twice. Looking at the bigger picture, they have failed miserably at the UCL since 2015 and that is because of the lack of depth in the squad and relying too much on Lionel Messi.

The Blaugrana don’t exactly have a youngster at the moment who they are looking to groom for the future and that is why this deal is going to hurt them in the future. Emerson is a player with great potential and he should be allowed to develop at the Camp Nou. They will be making a huge blunder if all this is for just a temporary, and monetary boost.
