Barcelona permit their generational player to leave this summer
Barcelona prepares to downsize massively this summer despite already facing issues in terms of squad depth as the Catalan club hopes to raise funds to sign a few wanted players in order to contend for the 2020/21 La Liga Santander as it seems like Real Madrid are on course to win this season’s league title.

The first on the list to be sold in the summer market is the Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal. The former Atletico Mineiro right-back was signed by Barcelona and Real Betis in a joint operation conducted by both the clubs.
Emerson Royal has been a success so far for Real Betis scoring three goals and providing five assists in the Spanish league. The 21-year-old Brazilian is fast and strong which makes him a defensive asset, a quality the Blaugrana desperately as this season has been their worst defensive record in the recent few years.
Many consider the player to the ideal replacement for Nelson Semedo who has been poor this season and has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou.
However, the board has once again made a serious mistake.
Barca has the option to sign the player this summer for just 6 million euros and could possibly sell Nelson Semedo to make place for Emerson. However, the Catalans have considered selling Emerson Royal instead and the Brazilian is heavily linked with Everton this summer. Former Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti values the defender highly and the Barca man would be the ideal replacement for Seamus Coleman who has been a toffee for a decade now.
