Barcelona have shown interest to sign midfielders over the summer transfer window to replace Vidal and Rakitic who are set to leave the Camp Nou in the upcoming season. However, the club have a limited transfer budget and are struggling to allocate sufficient funds to sign their transfer targets.

Despite having a limited transfer budget, the Catalan giants have shown interest to sign many midfielders such as Fabian Ruiz, Eduardo Camavinga, Miralem Pjanic and Matteo Guendouzi in the transfer window.

Quique Setien has only been been able to sign one of his transfer targets Miralem Pjanic from Juventus in a swap deal for Arthur Melo. The rest of the midfielders on the radar of the 2018-2019 La Liga champions are yet to be approached by the club and are heavily linked with moves to join other big European clubs.

Barca could sign Matheo Guendouzi for 35 million euros.

According to the Sun, there are rumours that state that the 21-year-old Frenchman, Guendouzi who has an estimated market value of 40 million euros is in advance talks with Barca’s representatives and is on the verge of completing a transfer to the Camp Nou which is estimated to be around 36 million euros however, no official offer has been made till now. There are many other reports that suggest that the midfielder is on the radar of Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid who are expected to try to sign the midfielder as they have been impressed by the budding player performances at Arsenal and believe that he possesses great potential to evolve into a world-class midfielder over the next few seasons.

The Catalan giants could try to sign the French international on a swap deal similar to the Miralem Pjanic deal and offer the Gunners Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele who the English club have shown great interest to sign over the past few weeks. Barcelona could alternatively try to sign Guendouzi in a loan deal with a buyout clause.
