The Catalans keep their title hopes alive after their difficult away win and now have just two more fixtures to play while having a four-point lead to cover. The only way Barca could hope of lifting their title is if Real Madrid draws and lose two of there three remaining games which seem highly unlikely.
Nonetheless, the Blaugrana have shifted their attention towards next season and plan on carrying out summer overhaul to improve their conditions despite the limited budget.
Forbes reports that the board of Barcelona is delighted as Lautaro Martinez‘s 111 million euro release clause had officially expired on the 7th of July and now the Argentine striker is up for sale for a discounted figure which is estimated to be 90 million euros.
Earlier it seemed next to impossible for Barcelona to sign their wanted man to replace Luis Suarez as Inter Milan were not willing to accept anything below the fixed price, however, the Blaugrana now have the best opportunity of landing the Argentine forward for a discounted rate.
However, Inter Milan demand for a player in exchange for Lautaro Martinez
According to the reports from Italy, Inter Milan have agreed to let their superstar forward leave for 90 million euros this summer, however, after splashing 40 million euros to sign Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid, the Serie A giants lack the funds to purchase a replacement for Lautaro Martinez.
The Serie A club has demanded Antoine Griezmann in exchange for Lautaro Martinez. The 22-year-old Argentine forward would only switch club if Barca offers their 29-year-old French striker as a replacement for Antonio Conte.
However, the only loophole in the operation would be the former Atletico Madrid man’s salary. At the San Siro, the highest earners are both the former Premier League superstar’s Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku who earn 7.5 million euros per season, however, Griezmann makes a staggering amount of 17 million euros per season at the Camp Nou.
Both the clubs would have to continue negotiating along with the agents of both the involved clubs to ensure that all the parties involved have their requirements met before the commencement of the operation.
Lionel Messi is more than happy for Antoine Griezmann to leave this summer for Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine forward had previously expressed his admiration towards his national teammate and believes that he would be the ideal recruitment for the Catalan club.
