Barcelona have looked for ways to offload their 23-year-old winger in Ousmane Dembele.

As per The Sport Review, Manchester United are looking at Ousmane Dembele as an alternative option, should they fail to sign their summer target in Jadon Sancho. Borussia Dortmund have put a big price tag on their prized possession, and it is around £100 million.

For obvious reasons, the Red Devils are reluctant to pay a sum that big; given the current financial conditions. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has looked at the France international as the cheaper alternative to Sancho. In fact, Barcelona might just let him go at even half the price of what Sancho is valued at.

The 23-year-old has struggled for place and form in the Catalans’ set-up and is highly injury prone. In 74 outings for the Blaugrana, the winger has managed to find the net only 19 times. Brought in as a replacement of Neymar, he has been largely disappointing with his performances and consistency when it comes to match fitness.

The Red Devils on the other hand are looking to leave no stone unturned in their bid to land their prime target. They are reportedly looking for a way to offload the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Diego Dalot, Marcus Rojo, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, and Chris Smalling. If completed, these sales should give them a launching platform to go for their long-term target. BVB aren’t exactly budging from their estimation of the youngster and hence this is the only way of gaining enough funds. However, should the deal fail to go through, Ole will be looking at Camp Nou and Dembele.

This is a piece of good news for Barcelona for whom the past 2-3 weeks have been nothing but testing. In order to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan, they need cash as the Serie A giants are not interested in player plus cash deals. Dembele is a nice place to start off and not to forget, bringing in Martinez might be one of the few ways to get their Ace in Lionel Messi to stay at the club. The 33-year-old has refused to sign a contract extension which would allow him to leave after the 2021 season. This comes as the aftermath of a few rash decisions that the board has taken in the past few months and not to mention, the team’s dismal performance.
