The four Barcelona transfer targets Guardiola desperately wants at Man City

The atmosphere at the office of Manchester City and Pep Guardiola is absolutely ecstatic after CAS uplifted Manchester City’s two-year ban from competing in the Champions League after the club was charged for a breach in the financial fair play rules. However, Guardiola has cut the celebrations short and has turned his attention toward signing four superstar players who are also heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer.

More from Everything Barca

The former Bayern Munich manager hopes to build a squad that could fiercely compete with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who are the Premier League champions of the 2019/20 season. With Leroy Sane out and David Silva leaving at the end of the season, Pep has named the four players he deems fit for his plans next season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona has plans as well to contend for all the competitions next season after the club is on the verge of going trophyless this season.

The future of Quique Setien still remains uncertainly, however, the board still has plans to sign a few players by selling a few unwanted misfits at the club to raise funds for the summer.

Both Barcelona and Manchester City are prepared to battle it out this summer for four superstars that they consider to be ideal recruitments for the 2020/21 season, according to Diaro GOL.

Kalidou Koulibaly

The 29-year-old defender has been one of the world’s best defenders for the last several years and the African superstar is now ready to make the big jump in his career to play out his prime years after being linked to Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool.

Koulibaly would be a massive addition for the Catalans next season as the Blaugrana’s backline has been exploited this season on numerous occasions and even by the weaker sides of the league. Apart from his physical prowess in the defence making it almost impossible for forwards to get past him, Koulibaly is also an asset during set-pieces while attacking and defending since the player uses his physical stature to win aerial duels.

Pep Guardiola considers the Senegal international to be the ideal replacement for former club captain Vincent Kompany. City’s biggest mistake was not signing a replacement for their former captain which was the very reason behind their downfall this season.

Koulibaly is also calm and composed passer of the ball, a feature that would benefit both City and Barca since they play the ball out from the back while building their attacking transition.
