Luis Suarez opens up on Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona.
For the past two weeks, when it comes to Barcelona, the primary highlight has been Lionel Messi. The Argentine has refused a contract extension at the club after being discontent with the management.

As per Metro, Luis Suarez has spoken about Messi’s future. The striker is of the opinion that the La Liga giants need an attractive project to keep Messi at bay.
The 33-year-old has been largely frustrated with the club’s performances in recent times; having lost out on La Liga (unless Real Madrid manage to drop 6 points). Their Champions League hopes too appear to be too slim with the world icon having lost his faith in this team. He believes that the current set-up cannot win the UCL and that the club needs players like Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Messi has grown sick and tired of having to shoulder the Lion’s share of goal-scoring burden with Luis Suarez being the inconsistent reflection of the player he once was. This indirectly means that one might see Leo stay at the club should both of Martinez and Neymar arrive or maybe even either of them.
The 33-year-old has had a public spat with the Club’s director in Eric Abidal this season and his relationship with the current manager, Quique Seiten is said to be on troubled waters. In simple words, the forward has got every reason to be frustrated and leave the club.
Suarez believes that it is tough for him to see Messi play for any other team than Barcelona and that his friend should do what is in his and his family’s best interest; this might include leaving Barcelona. However, one thing should be kept in mind that Messi’s family likes staying in Barcelona and hence one cannot say for sure.
Suarez’s words do give a glimmer of hope for the ones who desperately want Messi to stay at the club. One thing is clear though, bring Neymar and Martinez to form a new attack and Messi will sign a new contract. The fate of the Barca legend lies at the hands of the management and their decision-making skills from here.
