Neymar remains a top target at Camp Nou alongside Lautaro Martinez as Barcelona desperately try to find the perfect balance in the squad.

As per Express, PSG have rejected Barcelona’s attempt at offloading the French International, Antoine Griezmann. It is believed that the Ligue 1 Giants are only interested in signing Dembele.

The Blaugranes have given the Paris based outfit a chance to sign Samuel Umtiti, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele but it seems PSG are only interested in brining Dembele to the Parc des Princes. However, at this point it remains unclear if this is only a plain swap deal or a player plus cash deal.

Barcelona shouldn’t have a problem with either of the supposed deal as they are finally about to get a chance to offload one of their major causes of grievances this summer. The current Barcelona isn’t the player who Barcelona envisioned when they bought him for a record fee, making him the joint-most expensive player (€105 million) back in 2018. It is fair to say that the Catalan Giants have lost all hopes of recovering a sum that big as no team will ever be interested in a player who spends most of his time on the sidelines, injured.

The addition of Neymar to the squad will do a world of good to the current Barcelona set-up which look depleted. With another loss against Osasuna, Messi is on the verge of losing all his patience with the club and Neymar at Camp Nou might just give him a reason to stay at the club. The Blaugranes also intend to sign Inter’s Lautaro Martinez but with the Serie A giants demanding £100 million cash, the deal looks highly unfeasible for the Blaugranes.

Neymar,28, has probably got another three years of his prime following which he might just become like Suarez and Barcelona will start to look for his replacement as well. Martinez has still got a lot of years left with him and can be a long-term option for the club. Moreover, an attack consisting of Neymar, Martinez and Messi is bound to get them the UCL in the future.

It is a blessing in disguise for Barca as they don’t need to lose their patience with Griezmann just yet. The French international showed glimpses of his old form recently and one never knows; the original Griezmann might just turn up next year. Should Barcelona fail to sign Martinez, they should give Griezmann an extended run in the team as the striker.
