Barcelona haven’t been able to retain the La Liga title.

More from Everything Barca

Barcelona haven’t been able to retain the La Liga title this season as Real Madrid have been crowned champions of Spain with a game to spare after their 2-1 win against Villarreal in their last game. Over the past few weeks Quique Setien has hinted that he wants to make many changes to the squad in the upcoming season in order to contend for the league title in a more effective manner.

The Catalan giants have been heavily linked with moves to sign Lautaro Martinez and Neymar over the summer transfer window. In order to afford the expensive duo Barca have decided to sell players such as Arturo Vidal, Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Junior Firpo, Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic.

Chelsea could try to sign Arturo Vidal.

The Blues are on the verge of selling their Brazilian superstar Jorginho and could try to fill the void of the player by signing the Chilean international, Arturo Vidal from Barca who has an estimated market value of 12 million euros.

According to the Express, Martin has passed a statement in which he stated that Vidal would be a perfect fit at the Stamford bridge, he further added that he feels the Chilean international would be interested to join the Premier League as he hasn’t been able to experience life in that league till now. Moreover, many rumours suggest that Frank Lampard is interested in the player however as of now no move has been made by the English side. There are other reports that suggest that clubs such as Manchester United, Inter Miami and Newcastle United have also shown interest to sign the maestro.

Barcelona could alternatively try to include Arturo Vidal in a swap deal in order to reduce the asking price of the club’s transfer targets considering the fact that the outbreak of the Coronavirus has reduced the spending power of the Spanish giants.
