More from Everything Barca

Barcelona haven’t been able to sign their transfer targets till now due to insufficient allocation of funds this transfer window caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus. The Catalan giants have decided to sell and loan many of their players to re-established their squad in the upcoming season. The club has plans to replace these players by trying to bring new players to the Camp Nou in order to establish a more effective squad which can contend for the La Liga title in a more convincing manner.

Many reports have suggested that that Quique Setien has shown interest to sign many world-class players such as Fabian Ruiz, David Alaba, Kalidou Koulibaly and Thiago Alcantara, however no offers have been made till now. Over the past few weeks, the Spanish giants have also been trying to sign Neymar and Lauturo Martinez who can be seen as the club’s primary transfer targets this season, despite being Barca’s primary transfer targets the club are struggling to sign the expensive offensive duo.

Thiago Alcantara is set to join Liverpool.

According to the Goal, Barca’s transfer target Thiago Alcantara is set to leave the German giants and join Liverpool in the upcoming season. The 29 year old Spanish international has an estimated market value of around 50 million euros and has recently been praised by Pep Guardiola who has stated that the midfielder is an exceptional player who would be able to adapt to the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign the Spaniard and bring him to the Anfield over the next few weeks.

Barcelona must to try sign their other transfer targets in a more effective manner to prevent them from joining other big European clubs. The club should now focus on signing a world-class defender who can help ease the pressure off Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet in the upcoming season.
