Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are about the stun Europe.

Barcelona have already made headlines on the transfer front after landing Miralem Pjanic from Juventus and letting go of Arthur Melo. The Catalans received widespread criticism for their slack transfer which no other club with a rational mindset would’ve given a green light too. However, they’re looking for a spectacular recovery, Diario GOL reports.

Despite being in their worst financial situation in decades, Josep Maria Bartomeu sees a glimmer of hope and believes that landing one of Lautaro Martinez or Neymar is still a possibility. Besides the signing of a forward wanted by Lionel Messi being fruitful from a sporting standpoint, keeping the club’s captain happy and at the club is imperative too.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar is thought to be the club’s primary objective given that he shares a very good relationship with Lionel Messi even from a personal point of view. The South Americans were undoubtedly lethal on the field, but off the pitch as well, their families would be captured together by the media here and there.

According to the latest talks, it is suggested that the Parisians are willing to accept payment for Neymar’s services in instalments. With that said, their objective is not holding onto the Brazil international but potentially keeping Kylian Mbappe away from Real Madrid by offering him a record-breaking contract.

A lot of external factors are involved.

Neymar’s move to the Camp Nou depends a lot on the legal developments between him and his former club but another player that the Blaugrana are behind from the Parc des Princes is Angel di Maria. The former Real Madrid man sees his contract expire in France in 2021, and with no talks of a renewal, PSG may be open to selling him soon.

Manchester United’s ex-midfielder is 32, but unlike a lot of players of his age, he hasn’t slowed down and is still going strong. With the capability of being employed on either wings as well, the Catalans are of the opinion that he will be a solid addition to the club’s setup. In order to land di Maria, they’re ready to sacrifice another midfielder.

Ivan Rakitic will be allowed to leave. The Croatia international is bound to get less minutes at the Camp Nou as he ages and he has said that the final years of his career wouldn’t be spent warming the bench. Rakitic was wanted by Atletico Madrid and Sevilla too in the past, but PSG is certainly a better destination where silverware will be aplenty.
