Barcelona receives request from Bayern Munich for their latest signing.

Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, want to sign the latest Barcelona signing who is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Spain.

More from Everything Barca

The Catalan giants signed the youngster from Las Palmas for a mere 5 million euro transfer fee along with an additional 1.5m in variables. The 17-year-old has shined for Palmas in Segunda División, attracting multiple clubs who consider him as one of Spain’s promising talents.

While being the same age as Barca’s breakthrough star, Ansu Fati, Pedri may not be given entry to the first-team at Camp Nou straight away. Despite being a talented midfielder, the teenager could be forced to play elsewhere on loan or with the club’s ‘B’ squad to continue his development.

While several Spanish sides are interested in acquiring the 17-year-old, it is the foreign offers from some of the European greatest that could be the most attractive deal for the youngster. Besides Borussia Monchengladbach who want to loan the player next season, Mundo Deportivo via Sky Sports Germany reveals that it is in fact the German champions themselves who desire Pedri’s move to the Bundesliga.

After rejecting the option to keep fellow Barcelona midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, the German side only have former Barca midfielder, Thiago Alcantara, available in that position. The interesting part is that even Thiago has been heavily linked with an exit in the next transfer window forcing the Bundesliga giants to look for alternatives.

Pedri has been named the perfect replacement as he shows signs of potential while also being extremely talented. Barca are reluctant to lose him for the same reason and feel that a move to Bayern will only hinder the player’s development as they cannot promise him regular minutes.

The Las Palmas star is known to be extremely delighted with his move to Camp Nou and cannot wait to wear the Blaugrana colors, implying that perhaps he will remain with the reserve squad until the management feels that he deserves a place with the first-team.

Should Barca loan Pedri or play him next season?
