Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu’s list of signings for this year.

Barcelona have had a disastrous season this year with one of their major weakness being the lack of depth in the current squad. Lionel Messi has publically criticized the management and the way that they have handled the team and its affairs this season, which have impacted the on-field performance of the club.

More from Everything Barca

The Argentine maestro has the option to leave next season if he believes that the project will not result in European success as he wants to end the remaining prime years of his career competing for the Champions League.

Barca president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, must now restructure the current project to convince Messi to sign a contract renewal with the biggest focus being reinforcing the squad with quality transfers.

The club captain has complained about the lack of quality in the current lineup and wants multiple signings like Lautaro Martinez, Neymar and more.

Bartomeu must now find a way to secure the many transfer targets during a tough window heavily influenced by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The economic significance of the pandemic will drastically damage the level of income and expense of the club which will have a direct impact on their transfer plans.

Despite this, Bartomeu has listed 8 footballers other than the players that are already arriving next season, Pedri and Francisco Trincao.

The Catalans will also have Emerson on the list of arrivals for next season after they signed him on a joint venture with Real Betis. Additionally, several loaned players will also return with Rafinha Alcantara, Philippe Coutinho, Juan Miranda, Oriol Busquets, Jean-Clair Todibo, Carles Alena, Matheus Fernandez, and Mousa Wague, all available.

While many existing players have been placed on the transfer market to make funds available to secure the major targets, let’s see who Bartomeu has chosen to replace them.
