The most awaited signing after being named the perfect successor to aging Gerard Pique, Eric Garcia was once a La Masia graduate himself. Joining Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City desiring more regular minutes, Garcia has quickly found a regular spot under the former Barca coach.

While the Premier League side hope to renew his expiring contract, the Catalans are planning to use his love for the club and his family to secure him as the long-term heir to Pique. After growing up in the academy, Eric understands the philosophy perfectly, and his time under Guardiola will only help him settle at Camp Nou even further.

Lionel Messi wanted Barca to sign Alaba from Bayern Munich back when Ernesto Valverde was still a coach. With the Argentine’s contract expiring and his reluctance to renew it, president Bartomeu is attempting to secure the desired transfer to boost his chances of securing the G.O.A.T for many more years to come.

Alaba has won everything with the Bundesliga giants and could look for a new adventure in La Liga. As a former left-back, the 28-year-old could be used as a backup for Jordi Alba, while also being a central defender alongside Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique.
