Find Unity Within The Squad

It is no doubt that the squad and the coaching staff have some ongoing internal issues which have often reflected on their on-field performance. Lionel Messi was visibly seen avoiding both Quique Setien and Eder Sarabia during a cooling break, hinting that he disagrees with the way the 61-year-old is running this club.

Setien has been questioned at times for his tactical approaches and substitution choices during a match, which often led to a negative result. It is true that the Spanish coach has a tough job of picking a team where most of the players are either out injured or prone to be.

Regardless, the board have announced that the Spanish coach will remain until the Napoli match, at which point the results will determine his future. Messi, on Setien’s request, sat with the former Real Betis coach to discuss their differences. Reports suggest that the two sat for an hour planning what needs to be done in order to find success in the European competition.
