Barcelona shortlist three superstars as possible signings

The 2019/20 season has been a horrific season for Barcelona and the board of the club. Apart from the off-field issues that the club has faced, Barca has been poor on the field as well. Quique Setien’s squad seems to be heavily reliant on Lionel Messi to pull the strings on every game, however, the Argentine is now 33-years-old and it is no longer possible to depend on Messi every game.

The club requires a new face, a new superstar that could carry the burden that is bestowed on the club’s captain. Messi himself has named a few signings that Barca should focus on such as Lautaro Martinez, Neymar, Nicolas Tagliafico, and so on.

If the rumours are to be true, the Express reports that Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain still remains a prime target on the agenda of the club.

The Blaugrana are keen on signing their former player who left the Camp Nou in an unprofessional manner in the summer of 2017 for a world-record fee.

Barca since then has tried signing several alternatives to find success without the skillful Brazilian but all hope has failed.

Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, and Ousmane Dembele were the signings that Josep Maria Bartomeu carried out as the president of the club and he rightfully believed that these three superstars signings would help the club win it’s sixth Champions League title.

Neymar himself has regretted his move to the French capital and rumours state that the former Santos winger was eager to leave France in the summer of 2019 for a move back to Catalonia. Neymar has once again been phenomenal this season for Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazilian believes that he could lead the club to their first UCL title after turning around the tie against Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains on the radar of Quique Setien. If Barca is to sign Neymar at the end of the season, the only possible option would be if the club trade Ousmane Dembele or Antoine Griezmann along with cash for the Brazilian winger.
