Ligue 1 Champions, Paris Saint-Germain, claim that Barcelona will not be attempting to sign Neymar in the next transfer window.

More from Everything Barca

The French side are confident in their ability to secure the Brazilian international beyond the next transfer window, claiming a contract renewal is imminent.

Sport, via Le Parisien, states that the club’s sporting director, Leonardo Araújo, is planning to secure both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as the superstars of their footballing project.

The financial implications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have forced the Catalans to move away from reuniting with their former winger, aiding the Parisiens’ confidence in tying the former Santos forward for long-term.

After a lot of speculations regarding his future, Neymar in recent months has eased on his demands of securing an exit to Camp Nou and looks to secure a Champions League title with the French side.

The report suggests that PSG are hoping to secure him until 2024 but it remains to be seen if the Brazilian signs a new contract after possibly winning the European trophy this year.

While most of the European elites have been merged together in this year’s Champions League campaign, the Paris side have a relatively easier route to the finals in Portugal, with their biggest oppositions being Atletico Madrid. The Spanish side are by no means an easy target, reaching the finals of the tournament on many occasions in recent years, Atleti will surely look to give it their all.

After failing to perform as expected in recent history, Neymar and Mbappe will surely look to seize this opportunity as it could be their best and easiest chance of securing the Champions League title.

Will Barca be able to secure their former superstar?
