Lautaro Martinez will reject contract renewal with Inter for Barcelona.

The Inter Milan striker is keen on securing a move to Barcelona to play alongside fellow Argentine, Lionel Messi, amidst contract renewal talks.

The current negotiations with the Italian side are at standstill with both sides hoping to conclude the saga next month. The Catalans have placed Lautaro as a priority signing in the hopes of securing a permanent and long term successor to 33-year-old Luis Suarez.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are keen on keeping a hold of the star forward by offering him a lucrative contract renewal deal but the Spanish side are said to have no worries about the transfer.

Sport reports that Barca believes these contract renewal talks from Italy are only to pressure them off the hunt for Lautaro but in reality, the 22-year-old has already made up his mind about wanting to move to Camp Nou in the next transfer window.

Inter have been made aware of his desires and might be forced to sell the striker as his recent dip in form since the restart could be due to him wanting to force his way out of Seria A. Meanwhile, Lautaro has expressed his desire to give his all with Inter for the time being and even coach Antonio Conte has defended his latest disappointing performances.

The previously held release clause of 111 million euros expired last month but Internazionale still believes his value to be the same. However, Blaugrana have stated that a price tag of 65-70 million euro is fairer and they are ready to provide a player like Junior Firpo in addition.

The talks will continue once the current Champions League campaign concludes in August with Barca looking to significantly improve their performance in order to avoid going the entire season trophyless.
