Arturo Vidal (Age: 33 | Transfer Value (TransferMarkt): 11m euros)

The Chilean has strangely been one of the most regular appearances under Setien and has often found success based on his ability to be at the right place at the right time. The board, however, are looking to change the landscape of the Barca midfield with multiple aging footballers hindering the spot for promising youngsters like Riqui Puig, Frenkie de Jong, and Álex Collado. The club’s latest signing of 22-year-old Matheus Fernandes also proves that they are looking to implement a much younger lineup which means the departure of aging athletes like Vidal.

Ivan Rakitic (Age: 32 | Transfer Value (TransferMarkt): 20m euros)

Rakitic has been tipped to leave Camp Nou for quite some time now with the Croatian international being among the most criticized players of the squad. While it is true that the midfielder has significantly worsened over the years often losing possession and failing passes, he has been an equally big part of the club’s success in the past. The board are looking to sell the 32-year-old but a suitable destination is still to be found with his former club, Sevilla, named a possibility.

Carles Alena (Age: 22 | Transfer Value (TransferMarkt): 18m euros)

Currently loaned to Real Betis, the La Masia graduate left the Nou Camp in hopes of securing regular minutes to continue his development. Still hoping to find a permanent spot in the team’s midfield, Alena was looking to impress the Barca board with his loan spell. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic, however, hindered his chances but the club are now open to sell or loan the youngster based on the offers they receive. Meanwhile, the youngster will try his best to perform during the pre-season fixtures to remain at Barcelona.

Rafinha Alcantara (Age: 27 | Transfer Value (TransferMarkt): 9.5m euros)

With a similar situation as Alena, Rafinha has failed to live up to the club’s expectations especially ever since his latest injury which forced the board to extend his contract by just one year in order to secure his loan move to Celta. Now 27, the Brazilian international will most likely be hoping to find a club that would provide him regular minutes with the Catalans looking to sell him.
