Neymar to wait for Barcelona before tying future with Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain are looking to secure both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar but the Brazilian awaits a response from Barcelona before finalizing his future.

More from Everything Barca

The ‘Neymar to Camp Nou’ saga is far from over with the Brazilian still desiring a reunion with former teammates, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. His current contract with PSG expires in June 2022 but he has the option to force his way out of France by pleading to FIFA using Article 17.

Barcelona are invested in securing Lautaro Martinez as the long-term successor to Suarez. This deal itself is supposed to put a significant load on Barca’s finances especially after facing economic difficulties as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The already complicated Neymar transfer has become even more difficult with the Parisiens adamant about securing the Brazilian on a new and improved contract. But things for the Ligue 1 champions are not easy either, with the 28-year-old refusing to sign a renewal as he continues to wait for a response from the Catalans.

Neymar is aware that the transfer market in Spain is active until October and has decided to not hurry on deciding his future until then. Things are not looking great for PSG as the player has already rejected a lucrative contract renewal deal, worth 100 million euros, in the hopes of securing the return to the Nou Camp.

The economic hardship at Barcelona has forced the club to evaluate their transfer plans and thus are yet to inform the Brazilian about their final intention regarding his move. The club will surely attempt to offer an exchange deal to the Parisiens in the hopes of significantly reducing their asking price with Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic, and Jean-Clair Todibo being named as the potential candidates.
