However, Eldes marque claims that the wage issue continues at the Camp Nou. The imparity in the wage structure at Barca is quite astounding as several players are overpaid, meanwhile, several players who play their heart out for the club’s badge are severely underpaid.
The report claims that Clement Lenglet has gone absolutely unnoticed by the board this season, however, the French defender was the only consistent performer in the defense alongside Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Lenglet has even scored twice this season for the club and has provided an assist despite being a defender.
How much is Lenglet paid for his services?
The 2018 World Cup-winning defender is paid a shocking figure that is assumed to be just 3 million euros meanwhile his compatriot Samuel Umtiti who has had no impact this season earns a staggering 12 million euros per season.
Lenglet has played 38 games for the Blaugrana in all competitions this season while giving his very best each time he set foot on the field, meanwhile, Umtiti has featured just 18 times and has been horrible this season while earning four times the amount Lenglet earns.
Although the defender is on a contract until 2023 at the Camp Nou, the defender may leave the club this summer or next year if the board does not offer him a revised contract. Clement Lenglet certainly deserves an increment in his salary for being a rock at the back for Barca all season long despite all the other defenders who severely underperformed.
