Barcelona recieve a boost in their Lautaro Martinez pursuit

Despite the lack of funds to land Lautaro Martinez, Barcelona have received some good news.

As per Sport, Martinez will not be renewing his contract with Inter Milan in the favor of Barcelona. The 22-year-old now wants to go to Camp Nou.

This comes in the aftermath of the recent criticism that he has been facing despite the team’s overall performance being poor. He has faced a lot of flak in recent times despite the Argentine ensuring that he will fight for the club if he is there. Inter Milan are doing their best to keep the striker at the club, but it seems it is out of their control now.

Inter have valued him around £111 million, a price too high for the Blaugranes who are only willing to pay a fee around £65 million in addition to a player. The player is said to be Junior Firpo. However, the Blaugranes will still try to get down the price to an even lower range by offering Dembele or Coutinho. The Blaugranes have a lot of options to include in the swap deal.

It does look like Inter are prepared to force him into staying by offering him a lucrative contract. Moreover, they need time to look for his replacement as well but as it stands now, things are looking shiny for Barcelona now. Remember, in order to get Messi to stay, they need to make some huge signings soon and Lautaro Martinez is a target indicated by the Argentine Ace.

Barca and Inter Milan officials will meet up from August 2nd onwards and the negotiations will take its future course from there. However, a final say is still to be touched upon and if Inter do not want to sell their talisman this summer, there’s nothing that the Blaugranes will be able to do about it.
