Junior Firpo might leave Barcelona and join Inter Milan

Junior Firpo and Samuel Umtiti might not find themselves playing for Barcelona in the upcoming season. This is because the defensive duo have failed to impress Quique Setien with their performances as the club this season and have lost their place at the Camp Nou, Barca have not been effective while defending this season and have conceded 38 goals across 38 La Liga matches this season.

The Spanish giants must try to improve their defence before the start of the 2020-2021 La Liga season to contend for the title in a more effective way as compared to the 2019-2020 season where the club finished 5 points behind Real Madrid in second place.

Many world-class defenders have been rumoured to join the Catalan giants however no offer has been made till now, this might be due to the fact that the Barca have a limited transfer budget caused due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Inter Milan have shown interest to sign Junior Firpo.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Inter Milan have shown interest in defenders such as Junior Firpo, Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri and Gosenes who the club might want to sign over the summer transfer window.

Junior Firpo has an estimated market value of around 20 million euros and many reports have suggested that he has been offered by the Spanish side in a swap deal in hopes to reduce the price of the club’s primary transfer target Lautaro Martinez. However, as things stand the Italian club don’t seem interested in this offer.

Barcelona could try and offer Inter Milan Junior Firpo on a season long loan deal with an attached buyout clause similar to the deal that Philippe Coutinho had with Bayern Munich in the 2019-2020 season.
