Barcelona must try to sign a world-class defender over the transfer window

Barcelona need to make many changes to their current squad after losing 8-2 to Bayern Munich in the quarter finals of the Champions League if they hope to contend for any silverware in the upcoming season.
The Catalan giants have failed to be effective while defending this season in both the Champions League and the La Liga. The Spanish side has conceded 38 goals across 38 La Liga matches which resulted them to finish second in the league 5 points behind their rivals Real Madrid.
Barca must try to sign world-class defenders.
Over the summer transfer window the Spanish giants must work towards convincing some of their star players such as Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen to extend their contracts and stay at the Camp Nou as they have received a lot of interest from many big European clubs. In addition to convincing their star players to stay at with the club Barca must try to sign world-class defenders who can help improve the performance at the club.
Barca should try to spend their limited transfer budget to sign players such as Kalidou Koulibaly, Gabriel Magalhaes and Dayot Upamecano who have been crucial players for their teams success over the course of this season and would help fortify the Camp Nou in a more effective manner.
In order to sign these world-class defenders the Catlana giants could offer the club’s swap deals and include players such as Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti in hopes to make the transfer more affordable.
