Manchester United and Jadon Sancho have been seen the strength of the links grow by leaps and bounds this season. However, it seems it may come to nothing in the end.

As per Mirror, Manchester United are considering Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho, having missed out on the deadline set by Dortmund for his transfer.

Solskjaer wants the 23-year-old in the right flank as an alternative for Jadon Sancho next season.

Barcelona will be more than willing to part ways with the Frenchman who still has a couple of years left in his contract at the Camp Nou. The 2018 World Cup winner has only made 9 appearances this season, spending most of his time on the side-lines with a muscle injury.

The potential deal is speculated to be a one-year loan deal with an option to the buy the player, should the Red Devils wish to. Dembele was brought in back in 2017 as a replacement for Neymar but he has hardly been the shadow of the player that forced Barcelona to buy him from Dortmund for a record fee.

The only factor which might hold back Ole Gunner from making a move for the player would be the fact that he is highly prone to injuries and might not be able to adjust to the rigorous schedule of the Premier League. While his pace would very well complement that of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, he stands as a liability now. Barcelona’s investment in him is a proof that its one of their worst in recent times.

The Blaugrana have got their own set of troubles. They suffered their most embarrassing defeat in recent times as they were absolutely swatted away by Bayern Munich by a margin of 8-2. The most disappointing part of the score-line was that out of the 2 goals under the Blaugrana’s name, one was an own goal. Effectively, the score-line stands out as 8-1.

There must be a complete rebuild of FC Barcelona from the scratch. The Board needs to see some changes and there will be some tough sackings when it comes to the players. They need fresh blood and they would be doing themselves a huge favour if they started off by securing the likes of Jadon Sancho or Lautaro Martinez. It is time for a change and Dembele needs to be shown the door.
