Barcelona a rudderless ship with no direction as the club heads towards a dark future
The season of 2019/20 has been the blueprint of the bleak future that lies ahead for Barcelona. A series of mistakes that have accumulated over the years are finally showing their true colours and unfortunately, it has come around when a few key players such as Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, and Sergio Busquets have entered the final few years of their career.

The issues that prevail at the Camp Nou are never-ending and the list goes on starting from an incompetent board, a clueless manager, an aged squad, and an overly dependent team that latches on to Lionel Messi to bail them out.
However, times run out for Barcelona as the club seriously needs to whitewash their past and start from scratch all over to build a winning squad and a prosperous club.
As Barca hope to mend their ways and hopefully get back on the righteous path, some players have lost their patience and are no longer willing to waste their last few years at the down-trodden club.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Gerard Pique are willing to leave this summer
After the defeat to Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AS Roma, Liverpool, and now Bayern Munich in the Champions League consecutively, the club is bound to lose some players who would prefer to protect their legacy elsewhere. Lionel Messi has already handed in a transfer request and has demanded the club to immediately permit him to leave the club as the club captain can no longer continue at this failed project.
Luis Suarez has also considered a move and now has offers from Ajax Amsterdam, the MLS, and an offer from a club in Qatar. Meanwhile, Gerard Pique was the first player to admit regarding the lack of young players in the squad and the crisis the club faces.
The Spanish defender stated that he is even willing to leave the club for the better. Pique who has been a long faithful servant of the club was devasted after the humiliating crushing defeat by Bayern Munich.
"“The first one to volunteer will be me, if new blood has to come in and change this dynamic I will be the first to go, to step aside”. –Gerard Pique"
With Messi, Suarez, and Pique considering a move out of the Camp Nou, Barcelona now seem like a sinking ship with no captain on board to protect them. However, despite the complete mess that the club is in, the board still has not learned their lesson as rumours state that Thierry Henry has become the favourite to replace Quique Setien.
Henry, a failure of a manager would do no good by replacing Quique Setien. With Messi, Suarez, and Pique possibly leaving, and with the appointment of Henry as the manager of the club for the 2020/21 season, one can only pray that the club does not get relegated.
