Messi’s future at Barcelona might depend on only one condition
As much as Club President, Bartomeu would hate to believe, Messi is not a big fan of the current board.
As per Independent, Messi might stay at Barcelona if Bartomeu is not retained as the club President next season. The Argentine Ace is in firm opposition to Josep Bartomeu continuing as the President. He wants him to step out of the reckoning for the Presidential election next year, if he were to stay at Barcelona.

Neymar was heavily linked to a Barcelona return this season and things might’ve turned out different if the eventual transfer was carried out, when the conditions were ripe. PSG were ready to sell Neymar in a swap deal, but Barcelona did not act promptly on that.
The Argentine ace believes the blame for this should go to the Club President, Josep Bartomeu. He still hasn’t forgiven him for his failure to bring back Neymar.
Barcelona haven’t made a big singing yet this summer and Lautaro Martinez is said to be their prime target as they look to replace Suarez at the tip of the formation. With Ronald Koeman on his way to Camp Nou, a series of changes are expected, and we might get to see a new-look Barcelona side sooner than expected. The former Dutch National Team Manager is looking to offload as many as 6 senior players in a bid to free up some funds and make some fresh signings this summer.
Koeman has recognised Barcelona’s greatest flaw in recent times i.e., not having enough depth at the back end of the squad. The slowness of the Bluagrana’s defence was merrily exploited by Bayern in their 8-2 thrashing of the Catalan giants. The players failed to show any sort of intensity and Ronald Koeman is looking to change that.
Bartomeu was part of the meeting that concluded with Quique Setien facing the axe. The current ditch that the Blaugranes is in now, is as a result of a series of bad decisions being made from the past 3 years.
Barcelona fans must hope that Ronald Koeman is the source of inspiration that the club has been looking for all this while. Hopefully things will be better under him and the Blaugranes will put up a better show next season.
