Barcelona have sacked Quique Setien.

More from Everything Barca

After an end to a disappointing season in which Barcelona weren’t able to win any silverware the club has decided to make some big changes in hopes to improve the performances of the Catalan giants in the upcoming season.

The 2018-2019 La Liga champions have decided to start the upcoming season without both Eric Abidal and Quique Setien and have signed a new manager Ronald Koeman who has managed the national team of Netherlands since 2018.

In addition to these changes the club has decided to sell many of their players such as Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic, Junior Firpo and Arturo Vidal over the summer transfer window.

Ousmane Dembele is set to stay at the Camp Nou.

The Mirror has stated that despite being able to perform efficiently ever since the Frenchman joined Barca from Borussia Dortmund in the 2017- 2018 season Bartomeu is keen to keep him at the Camp Nou alongside players such as Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Dembele has an estimated market value of 56 million euros and has a contract that keep him in Spain till 2022. Many experts believe that the decision of including the winger in the club’s plans for the upcoming season isn’t going to help the club as the Frenchman has only able to score 19 goals in 74 appearances and should be added to the list of players that Barca would like to sell over the transfer window.

The Frenchman has received interest from many Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United over the summer transfer window. However, reports have suggested that due to insufficient funds these clubs are more inclined towards establishing a season long loan deal for the playmaker. As things stand no offers have been made till now, Barcelona could alternatively try and include Ousmane Dembele in swap deals to sign players such as Neymar and Lauturo Martinez who are the clubs transfer targets.

Next. Barcelona should opt to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon. dark
