Lionel Messi has every right to be angered at the Barcelona chiefs.

Barcelona announced that Ronald Koeman had signed as their head coach on Wednesday as the club hopes for an upturn in fortunes after a season to forget. The Blaugrana finished without a trophy for the first time in 12 years and they certainly have work on their hands, especially with their rivals building up a squad for the future.

More from Everything Barca

Lionel Messi now seems to have calmed down from embarrassment after the 8-2 humiliation against Bayern Munich and may be set to stay at the Camp Nou for longer than his contract. This may be because everything points to there being a better board of directors than the current one following the 2021 elections.

Express claims that the club is back to toying with Messi as it has decided to put three players up for sale, all of which are on good terms with the club’s captain. Arturo Vidal, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez are amongst a host of those up for sale in the transfer market with the 2020/21 season just a month away from kick-off and a revolution necessary.

Messi is right in all aspects of his argument.

While all three of them are aged, Messi will have a point when he’ll supposedly say that they’re experienced and doing a decent job, better than any backup. Moreover, the Blaugrana don’t have enough time and funds to replace the trio, meaning the decision to sell so many players at this point in time, including first-team regulars will be a hammer on their own foot.

Given that Koeman wants to build a squad around Lionel Messi, it’s imperative that the Argentina international happy and have players that he’s comfortable with, more so when the duration of pre-season is going to be incredibly short. Messi’s stance in case his three close friends and teammates are sold will be absolutely right, leaving Bartomeu to wonder on his silly business again.

Do you see the three listed Barca players actually being sold by the board?
