Barcelona should opt to sign Chelsea’s transfer target

Barcelona must try to sign a world-class defender over the summer transfer window.

Ronald Koeman has been appointed as the new manager of Barcelona in place of Quique Setien after losing to Bayern Munich 8-2 in the quarter finals of the Champions League in the 2019-2020 season.

The new manger has an extremely difficult task at hand, Koeman has to make many to the squad of the 2018-2019 La Liga champions. Reports suggest that Barca have plans to establishing a new squad over the summer transfer window and are expected to bring many world-class players to the Camp Nou over the next few weeks.

Barca should sign Chelsea’s transfer target.

According to the Metro, David Alaba is edging closer to a transfer to Chelsea after rejecting an offer to extend his contract with Bayern Munich. The 28 year old Austrian defender is extremely versatile and has been able to play at left back as well as a central defender for his side over the past few seasons.

Barca should sign Alaba who can act as a replacement for the defensive duo of Junior Firpo and Samuel Umtiti who the Spanish club are keen to sell over the course of the next few weeks. In addition to acting as a replacement for the defensive duo, Alaba will help remove the pressure of Gerard Pique and Clement Longlet in the upcoming season.

In order to sign the Austrian defender Ronald Koeman could try to offer the German giants a swap deal and include players such as Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic.
