If Griezmann is to shift to the centre-forward position next season, the left-wing position has to be filled. Koeman would have Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati at his disposal to cover in Griezmann’s previous position. However, relying on Dembele to cover the left-flank for the entire season seems to be a risky proposition given the Frenchman’s record of injuries sustained.
Ansu Fati is 17-years-old and relying on a teenager for an entire season would not be the most intelligent option as well. So if Griezmann is to move to the centre, then who must Barca sign to fill in the void?
Barca could consider Bayern Munich’s superstar
Philippe Coutinho will be returning to the Camp Nou after winning a treble with Bayern Munich during his season-long loan spell. The Brazilian’s future still remains uncertain, however, Koeman has stated that if the club does not sell him then Coutinho will be used either in the midfield as an attacking midfielder or on the left-wing.
However, if Coutinho is sold. The Blaugrana requires a young, experienced, and skillful winger to cover the left-flank. The player that fits the description mentioned above is none other than Bayern Munich’s savior in the Champions League final, Kingsley Coman.
The 24-year-old scored the only goal of the game after converting a cross from Joshua Kimmich to find the back of the net with a powerful header. Coman’s goal and Neuer’s heroics in goal sealed the sixth Champions League for the Bavarians.
However, Coman’s future remains uncertain as the 24-year-old will have to compete alongside Leroy Sane of Germany next season. Sane will be the first choice and it seems like Coman would have to either fight for a spot or consider a move-out.
The Frenchman would certainly be a massive addition at the Camp Nou as the player has tons of experience as well. Coman has won the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A, and now the Champions League and is just 24-years-old.
The player has also been injury-free for most of his career and is currently valued at just 40 million euros. Barca could possibly land a superstar that could set their attack for the rest of the season. Do you think Barca should bid for Kingsley Coman?
