Barcelnoa reveal their final intentions regarding former La Masia graduate.

Barcelona are awaiting the final response from Manchester City center-back Eric Garcia, based on which the future of Jean-Clair Todibo will be decided.

More from Everything Barca

The Catalan side are looking to rebuild the entire squad with particular focus on their defence after conceding 8 goals against Bayern Munich in the quater finals of the Champions League.

While Samuel Umtiti, Jean-Clair Todibo and Gerard Pique have been linked with an exit, the players replacing them still remain unknown with Manchester City’s Eric Garcia being named the favorite to land the spot.

The former La Masia graduate has confirmed his desire to return to his home, Barca, where he could enjoy life with his family. Having spent his youth in the club’s academy makes him the best candiate to be the long-term successor to 33-year-old Pique.

The Spaniard has refused City’s attempts to renew his expiring contract, making his arrival a real possibility. The only issue Barca face is the negotiations with the Premier League side.

City want 30 million euros for the Spaniard while the Spanish giants are aware of the fact that they could get him for free next year, allowing them to counter-offer a mere 10 million euros. With a contract expiring in 2021, City could either get the low amount or risk losing him for free and with the club already confirming the signing of Nathan Ake for 40 million euros, they could potentially look to sell Garcia.

Meanwhile, the Catalan side have multiple offers for Todibo, who has been linked with Everton, Leicester City and Milan. While they are hopeful of securing 25 million euros for the French international, Barca want to wait until Garcia’s situation is finalized before selling the youngster without having any alternatives prepared.

Should Barca sell Todibo once Garcia arrives?
