Messi could possibly leave Barcelona for Manchester City

The Lionel Messi rumours that have linked the player to Manchester City are stronger than ever now. The captain of the club has decided not to attend the Barcelona training and the PCR tests ahead of the pre-season. It seems like Messi is willing to go all the way to push a move forward out of the Camp Nou.

It was earlier reported that Manchester City was willing to offer Eric Garcia, Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus for Lionel Messi. However, Diaro GOL reports that Ronald Koeman wants Raheem Sterling or Kevin de Bruyne instead.

Raheem or Kevin for Messi states Koeman

Raheem Sterling at the age of 25 has already established himself as one of the world’s very best wingers. The England international can play on either wing, however, the right-wing remains as his first preference.

If Messi is to leave for City, then both the club’s could possibly have their immediate replacements. Pep Guardiola would have Messi on the right-wing and Koeman would have Sterling.

In the case of Kevin de Bruyne. It is highly unlikely that Pep Guardiola would let the Belgian midfielder leave the Etihad Stadium this summer after losing David Silva.

The former Chelsea midfielder is arguably the best in the world and Pep would want to see a connection between De Bruyne and Messi in the Premier League. It seems like Raheem Sterling could possibly be the one to be included in the swap deal.

Would you want Sterling at Barca? Can Sterling take over Messi’s role and guide the club to success?
